Kate has a deep passion for healthcare and an intuition for anticipating and solving critical challenges. As a Vice President of Communications, and BPD’s Payor-Provider practice lead, Kate combines these traits to help health systems effectively use communications to navigate complicated, high-stakes issues that impact their reputation and bottom-line. Kate’s acute understanding of the healthcare landscape accrued over the last decade has helped clients successfully advance their business objectives.
Kate graduated from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University. In her free time, she enjoys serving her suburban-Louisville community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT.

Ryan Colaianni is BPD’s Chief Communications Officer, leading the firm’s communications and issues/crisis management practices. With more than 15 years of experience, he is responsible for helping clients prepare for and navigate high-stakes challenges while protecting and elevating their reputations. Ryan’s expertise spans crisis communication, reputation management, and strategic media relations, with a focus on developing tailored plans for proactive risk mitigation and post-crisis recovery.
Before joining BPD, Ryan led the higher education practice at Edelman and managed issues workstreams for global corporate clients. He has built successful public affairs campaigns, elevated the profiles of Fortune 100 executives, and provided critical guidance to university presidents and health system leaders facing complex issues.
